The history of Leumi Switzerland began in 1953 with the opening of a representative office in a one-room apartment located on the Paradeplatz in Zurich. The representative office progressed into a certified foreign controlled bank under the name of “CIFICO AG”, later renamed Bank Leumi le-Israel (Switzerland).
In 1965, challenged with a continuously expanding client-base and strong demand for its specialized services, the bank opened an additional branch in Geneva.
Today, with its host of private banking services, product expertise, and investment ingenuity, Bank Leumi’s Swiss subsidiary has become the international private banking center for the Leumi Group. The Swiss operation employs approximately 140 employees in Zurich and Geneva.
The bank manages assets of some 4,500 clients, mainly conservative high net worth individuals and institutions from over 80 countries around the globe.
